like she was going to smother. Some times she sits up all night in a big rocking chair. I don't think she can live many weeks longer. She seems to be prepared for death. She has the dropsy now besides the consumption. There has been a series of very interesting Union prayer meetings held here during the last two weeks, and quite a revival in religion has been commenced. Several persons have come out on the Lord's side, and many every evening have asked to be prayed for. I think I have enjoyed these meetings the most of any I ever attended. We have had a very mild winter here so far, and except a few days when it was rainy and muddy, we have had a very pleasant one. I suppose you have heard of our victory in Kentucky - Zollicoffer killed and his army routed!
