I don't think we will have a war with England now. If we do I'm off. I look for some heavy blows to be dealt by our army before long. If this is done England will conclude she had better let us alone. You spoke of my wanting some money of you: I think I told you that I would wait on you till spring and perhaps not want it then. I will write to Father to collect of some who perhaps are better prepared to pay now. I must stop now as the mail closes soon. Write to me often: you gave me much news that I haven't received before. Don't stop for mistakes - I can read anything you write Excuse haste Ever your brother W. J. Ronalds P.S. I will answer G. H. Crow's letter soon.
