Jordon's Grove Ill's Dec 30th 1863 Mr J. B. McDill Dear Sir - I have just received a line from Mr Hasford, in which it appears you have presented to him my last propositions for sale of property and that he has not accepted either of them - now it seems you have yielded to his request for time to make me another offer - instead of ordering him to leave the property - Now I wish you to Say to him that I will not write another letter to him or receive another proposition from him - other than this that I now make - He asks 1st to be released from the rent now due - this I cannot grant, except what is due from the twentieth of Oct 1863. Which part I will release if he buys the place - otherwise I will hold him to pay for that time till he leaves the place Six dollars per month - Second, He asks permission to make larger payments if he can - now I will accept any larger payments than $100. He may make but will not make any discount for prepayment - i.e. I hold that his note will be the same as cash in hand - and can make no deduction from the face of it for prepayment.
