Jan 10th/89 Thursday. Mercury only 5° this morn, but at 21° P.M. & very pleasant & calm. As well with our folks think, [illegible] in good season. Ellery having much shoveling snow & 'making paths" to do before leaving for business, for day, but home to supper & out again as usual. [illegible] at home as usual with extra work of ironing. Rather better self tho no "extra strength" [illegible] spending day much as of late, & making more intimate acquaintance with Bird.
