April 6 Thursday Warm & pleasant, tho' not clear being hazy. Mer 40° at 8 o.c. & 62° at noon, & 65°+ at 2 o.c. PM & above 50°+ at sunset. I attended service at M.E. church with George & Rose in AM, spent PM reading & resting, had an hours nap, Ellery at B_ church both morn & evening, Lena & I looking over & copying "recipes" in evening. April 7 Clearer than yesterday, Mer 38° at 7 o.c. only 50°+ at noon but rose to 60°+ in PM all well with us, I was over to Rose's of errand after breakfast, then in at Mrs Howes to get "jelly tins" & at little jobs about house rest AM, doing job repairing in PM when Mrs Howe & Horrace were in a minute, carried home tins & stopped awhile after tea, Lena out
