Monday September 29 Much such a day as yesterday, commencing to rain about same time, Anna up & off at 5 o,c, I was up & had fire made when Lena came at half past 6 o,c, Ellery not feeling very well, but at the office all day guess, Lena not well either, has boil on right shoulder, at work some for me fixing up dark calico (old) but down town in P.M. Lena sick last Saturday, but Charlotte in town today. September 30 Weather remains same rain by spells thro' A.M. & part P.M. looking more like clearing up tho' still warm, Instead of washing Lena did some cooking, & I tho't would finish my jobs repairing, but had to be at dentist with Anna couple hours in P.M. but finished fixing old brown skirt in eve, after going to see "Helen" awhile & putting clothes to soak.
