Saturday October 11 Pleasant but cooler again, Mer only reaching 76°+ but remained there all P.M. I spent A.M. finishing ripping up g_ dress besides giving front rooms thoro' cleaning up before & after Lena's sweeping same, & in to see Rose & family, find them feeling better, Rose sitting up short time in P.M. I took work & sat with Mrs Howe couple hours. I spent eve at home, Lena here most of time & Anna in awhile. October 12 Rain fell during last night, making it quite muddy again so I gave up going to church this morning again, I was over to see Rose in A.M., but didn't go in, over again after tea, find her gaining fast as could expect, & Baby sleeping pretty well, tho' swelling doesn't go down fast as could wish. E_ out to church in morn, at home all eve, Lena out all eve.
