Tuesday November 4 Still quite cold, Mer 14°+ at 7 o,c, rose to 32°+ in P.M. & 27°+ at sun set, cloudy but no as windy. I went into Mrs. H_ of errand, then dow town with her to get my sack, but not quite done, but sent up so had it to wear in P.M. going with Mrs Howe attended funeral service of "Nettie Kensey" she having died yesterday morn- at her sister's in Decorah, I was in to see Rose & baby after. November 5 Quite pleasant once more, no wind, Mer- 24°+ at 7 o,c, & rose to 48°+, standing at 40°+ at sunset. I spent the day here & there, not settled yet so as to accomplish anything, was in at Mrs Howe's of errand in A.M. in P.M. Rose came in with baby "Clyde" (for first time) after sitting awhile I went with her to see Maz Stewart & baby. Then I spent couple hours with Rose at home.
