Charlotte over to spend night with me Tuesday December 2 Weather remains mild, Mer standing 36°+ at noon & all P.M. sky clouded over all day, all as usual with us, my cold having left me mostly & Ellery much better of his, & very busy in office, I kept busy most of A.M. about house, improving mild weather to give chambers thoro' sweeping & picking up, Lena of course doing sweeping. Was in to see Maz Stewart awhile in P.M. December 3 Much such a day as yesterday. Mer 30°+ at 7,30 this A.M. but only rose to 36°+, stood 30°+ again at sun-set, Charlotte left me soon after breakfast. I found little jobs here & there to take up time & spent rest of A.M. & most of P.M. at work on canvas for Tidy, copying from one Charlotte made for me, Rose in of errand in A.M.
