Saturday December 6 Found the ground white with snow this morning & having no sunshine, & growing cooler, it remained there. All well with us, & up in little better season this morn. Charlotte & I both found time to work at our fancy work little while in A.M. & while at dinner Lena returned but Charlotte left me first of P.M. & having sweeping & some cleaning up done & to see to took up good part of my time. December 7 A bright beautiful Sabbath once more, tho' quite cool, Mer only 12°+ at 8 o,c, standing 16°+ at noon, rising to 19°+ in P.M. Ellery & I attended B_ church (in A.M.) once more. Ellery at office most of P.M. (before dark) & I was in to see "Clyde" & the rest awhile, not having been in since Thursday, Lena out most of P.M. had company in eve, E_ & I spent eve reading.
