Lena's sister (Mrs Hanson) here to dinner with her Monday December 22 Clear & bright, very little wind, Mer at 0° at sun-rise & only 2°_ at sunset. Lena had washing out of way in A.M. tho' not feeling quite as well as usual I did clearing up after breakfast. Charlotte in few minutes in A.M. & I was in to see Mrs Howe & Rose in A.M. down to Mrs Spauldings after dinner, doing little jobs in P.M. & in with Rose awhile in eve. December 23 Unpleasant. After a cold windy night, cloudy, with little snow falling by spells thro' the day, tho' mer- stood only 7°+ at noon. All up rather late this morning. I kept busy at "nothing" as usual, finished fringeing out a Tidy I have been working for Mrs Pratt, feeling weak took a nap in P.M. Lena over to do stitching for me on Rose's machine. Katie Kaiser in meanwhile, also Cathy Pratt. Lena & I spent most of eve alone.
