Lizzie Phelps has a very nice piece of silk, (dress silk) which she says, is too flashy for her, she wants to exchange it, for a dark piece of some kind; A piece suited to her age &c. She wishes me to get you to "go shopping" some pleasant afternoon and obtain a small sample & inclose it in one of your letters to me, & then when she comes down she will try and trade or exchange if there is any to suit her. Now love, I want you to excuse this letter, both its composition & chirography, for I have written it very hurriedly, indeed I knew you would like that book, I knew it would suit your mind, Please write Friday, won&'t you.
