Keosauqua Iowa June 6/58 Mr J.B.Weaver, My own dear Friend this beautiful sabbath Afternoon I begin the pleasant task of writing to you. I do love to write to you And better than to any other person, But I would rather not write when I feel gloomy, for my letters always partake more or less of my feelings, But I did not feel very gloomy when I last wrote you, I had during the first part of the week, & I felt if I wrote while I felt so you would think strange and I thought I had so far recovered when I did write that you would not answer it, Yet I knew it was not a satisfactory letter but you understand me almost entirely, dont you?
