has said enough. It is the differance in our natures which I have before spoken of. I do not feel perfectly free to express my feelings in as strong language as you use, neither do I think a lady should, & I am afraid my reserve will be sometimes misunderstood, & you will be sure to think because I am not as demonstrative as you are that I really have no depth of feeling. Now to prove how different we are, you will remember that last evening you spent here how much pleasure you derived from what seemed to me a very little affair. No doubt you remember to what I refer. & of course you thought strange I did not feel just as you did about it. Well after a while you will understand my nature better. But most assuredly my actions can be better attributed to caution than to anything else, & I guess you think I am considerably cautious & yet I know we do not feel just alike, But I am really
