Nashville Army Air Center (A.A.F.C.C.) Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tenn. Jan 26, 1943 at last we are under way. A week ago the rumor went through the post that the Navigators were moving. No-one knew when or where. Then last Wednesday the Navigators signed the pay roll which proved they were going. We were ordered to make no mention of it. Shipping orders came through saying we would leave on Sat., that was on Thurs. Then they said "no, it's Monday." Saturday we were held on the alert all day; then told we would go Sunday. Sunday we were held on the alert all day... finally at 11:30 they said go to bed. We left about 6:00 p.m. Monday. Speculation was rife as to where we were going... no-one knew. Just a few moments ago while on the siding at Magnolia, Arkansas
