after May or June. Our barracks are tarpaper shacks... about 150' by 30'. They are heated by 2 coal stoves. This morning I was wakened about 2 a.m. by the guard yelling "Corporal of The Guard, Fire! Post 18."... The call was repeated and the Guard added "My God, Hurry!" It is startling. You wonder is it my barracks for the guard cannot leave his post... he can only call the corporal. Then the 20 members of Guard Relief went by on the double run with the corporal shouting cadence-- 1,2,1,2,1,2- as fast [Pair with page one, this section crosses over onto both sides] and finally we looked out west windows glowed red and the next block was a mass hurt but we got little s
