Saving...
Feb. 18 1943 Dearest: A letter from Dad indicates that he has or else is sending the mimeograph down to you. I'm not sure which from the way he states it. I've had 3 or 4 letters from him and a couple of packages --- 1 of razor blades and one of candy. Actually there is very little need of our receiving anything to eat. Food is good and there is almost more than we can eat served up to us. I've also received letters from Al Green, Fred Staples, Mary Howe and Besse Davis--- all teacher friends of mine. I've heard nothing from Gwen or Mr. Frostic; but then I haven't written either. Aunt Maud has written twice; John Schwichtenberg twice, also. Several of the children at school have written to tell me that they miss me. I've tried to get at least a card off to each of them. I wonder why it is that the letters I receive most of, I want most of .... Do you suppose it could be because of the girl who writes them? x ------- x The set-back which I am to receive will not rush me. I go into a new class and start over just as if I had never been here before. So, you see, there'll be no rush at the end to catch up with those who are ahead of me. x-------x
