Monday 12 April 1943 My dearest: Monday evening ....a little more free time and my first thought is to write you. I received your Wednesday letter this morning and your Thursday letter this p.m. I can understand that "too tired to go into long explanations feeling." I, too, experience that same lassitude. Yes, this would be one of those times when we'd relax and read -- I doubt if I'd be reading anything abstruse. . . I'm sure I'd never impress you with pomposity. You see to clearly for that.
