Tuesday 6 April 1943 My Dearest, I wish you could be with me today to wander through the fields at the far edge of the Field. They are carpeted with flowers. You'd love it. When I can get a few moments - sometimes after breakfast - I wander out that way. There are myriads of little blue flowers that look like fallen stars... There is a similar yellow variety. The earliest flower to come out was one which is a cluster of creamy up-turned bells, each with a rosy stripe down the center of the petal. It was this bloom which inspired me to write that last meditation. There are others, ...red, rosy white.... it's beautiful under the warm sun in the clear, balmy sea air. I have been wondering if you kept my letters. I want you to keep, and presume you have, the
