4 Yesterday, as I told you, I met, officially, a Chinese general. I guess I and the others must have done a good job of greeting for today the Captain told us Col. Spicer wanted to see us again. We couldn't imagine what we'd done wrong. He wanted us to meet and escort General Davies, the famous negro general. I am beginning to think I'll met the celebrities if they come here. You'd be amused to know that we men (in the barracks) have adopted a tiny black kitten for mascot. We hide it whenever an officer comes around and feed it a pint of ice cream every day. Well, goodnight dear - here's a kiss and I'll see you again tomorrow. Love BJ.
