18 May 1943 Dearest: Here's a quickie... written to show you this super new stationery we have. Your letters have been coming through okay... though not regularly but from the date sent I can see that it is the post office's fault. You sure are "going to town" with L.N. I will send you another check to help out financially and, I hope, an article or two .... if time will allow. My lettering system broke down. I was writing in all sorts of odd places and couldn't remember which letter came next. So...... I gave up. When you're writing me never worry about "bloody hands clutching" you around the throat. My loving hands might caress you. You'll be surprised how often we'll celebrate anniversaries. I
