27 June 1943 Sunday Good Morning, My dearest: Here it is Sunday morning and I was off since noon yesterday and all today stretches out before me with not a single duty to be done. It is one of those lovely June days when all time hangs motionless surfeit with the beauty of it. Great white, fleecy cloud- ships sail the blue above. The blue sky is like a deep inverted lake. I had been restless and uneasy all week.
