10 they saw me they waved friendly as a bunch of puppies. So I sat down, hugging my knees and watched them play in the gleaming water. One of them, who now is lying there in front of me, swam downstream and picked a great white waterlily. He stood before me, water dripping from him, his face all smiles holding out the lily. "For you, senor." He said in that stilted, accented English which even the children use here. I thanked him, took it and unconsciously smelled of it. Did you ever smell a waterlily? You must! It is the cleanest most ethereal
