7/15/43 Thurs. night Dearest: I did so much want to get off a nice long letter to you today. And all I manage are these short notes...anyway it certainly shows that my every spare moment has been spent on you. I would that it were my full time with you and my spare (if there were any under those circumstances) time were for other things. I quite agree with you that we do need a session in semantics. I believe I took your word "thrill" for what you might call "ecstasy." I did accept thrill in its common meaning. The way you define "thrill" as a "pleasurable stir or excitement of the senses" I'd agree with you completely. There is no reason why we shouldn't have it always as we do now...even more so I think. Let me tell you some of the thrills I look forward to: first, to the feeling that I am not alone in world, that the two of us stand together, that there is one person (namely you) who will stick by. In fact I thrill to that already. I am thrilled when the person I love, returns that love. It make my love
