Des Moines Iowa Jan 9th 1867 My Dear Pa and Ma, My anxiety to learn how Pa is getting along must be my excuse for bothering you with so many, and I shall continue to write till I can hear from home. I received one letter in the last three weeks, what does it mean? How are you getting along Pa? Are all of the rest well? I have felt so well since I came. There is nothing of interest here.
