DesMoines Iowa June 11th 1869 Dear Mother Your letter was recd last night. Im sorry that you are so uneasy about me! For I am able and have been for six weeks to attend to business. Though I feel generally dilapidated. At present I am considerably better than when I last wrote. I commenced taking Codliver oil & whisky one week ago to day and I feel so much better every way. I cough very little. Did not cough once after going to bed last night. I am staying in my room in the store, but am going to
