note I would pay it, but has not it. I think by the payment of the principle of the note, which I presume you owe to some body, the property can be placed with good title and so that the note will not have to be paid again. If the property had been my own I should have tried to compromise in this way with Allen, but as it was not and I thought you rather preferred me let it take its course. I have let it go thus far doing only to keep possession &c. Especially since to compromise took some money to the amt of a few hundred and mine is about gone. I shall be glad to hear from you soon, Court
