Woodland Farm Near Chariton Iowa July 1st 1869 Dear Pa, Your letter of the 24th ult. was received on yesterday and I was thinking of going to Eddyville next week, but this a.m. I received a letter from Uncle Will in which he stated that Levi had hemorage, again, and was somewhat discouraged. Levi was here sometime ago and looked very bad. I hated to write you to come, yet I hoped so much you would on his account. When he was here he expressed the desire to see you and hoped you would.come, You know how discouraged he was when in Virginia and how it preyed upon his mind. I will enclose Will's letter that
