Saving...
sent away to camp in New Orlens when I was not able to walk this was done on account of the Small Pox. I went to sevral Officers after that but they said there was no chance for me to get back to my old Regt. well I have done my duty ever seince as well as any Soldier could do and have never had any fault found with me nor have I had any fault to find with my superiors except that they would not let me go back to my old Regt. and that I can not get a furlough to go and see my Father who is sick and has been for the past three years he wrote to me a few weeks ago and said that he was very sick and did not expect to live long
