B. 7" Iowa Vols. as requested in your Circular which was handed me a few days since, if any further information is wanted I will cheerfully furnish same if within my power to do so. While writing you I should like to call your attention to another matter connected with the welfare of this Co. In Dec. last one of our Sergts, Saml. Folsome was detailed as a recruiting officer in Iowa & has succeeded in raising fifteen men, but is unable to procure transportation &c for the men. While at Benton Barracks our Col. made application for transportation &c, which application was approved by Gen. Walleck, but was refered to Capt. Wendershot of your place, to be attended to. I have been advised that he has received the order long ago, but as yet no transportation papers have been forwarded to Sergt. Folsome. He has just advised me that he and the men are quartered at St. Charles City Floyd Co. awaiting for means of transportation. Now will
