July 23, Mamma came home this morning and said she guessed that Stella and Ella would come down, in a few weeks. Bessie did not come down to stay all night so I slept up stairs all alone. Emma Parkins will go home this evening. I am afraid that Carrie Latta will think a am provoked if I don't go and see her, but I don't like her, she is so silly, so I don't believe I will go. Walter [Carrie?] and Della and Bertha were here to call on Miss Parkins, and Mr. Ball came to call in the evening and [Cartie?] Patterson and Warren More cam to spend the evening, they staid untill after then o'clock. July 24. It is night once more and Mr. Ball is spending the evening, they have been to call on Sallie Grey of Muscatine, who is visiting Kate Burroughs, and are now in our "Crow's Nest." I was up to Bessie's this afternoon and staid to supper. We numbered
