Saving...
Willametta Turnepseed 202 Roseland East Springfield, Ohio Letter #474 Friday, 9/1/44 Dearest: This has been a hectic week. The end of the month everyone calls in their last-minute reports, and when this coincides with Building-and-loan-day (the day the B&Ls hold board meetings and want their reports in) it's utterly hectic. This time Jean got a "nervous attack" Wednesday morning and hasn't come back yet. Last night I was so weary that I'd have cried if anyone looked at me cross-eyed, but my understanding family only scolded me lovingly and Dad insisted he wasn't tired and wouldn't let me help with the dishes. And today I've developed something on my finger which may be a felon, a boil, or just a light infection. I wince every time I hit it on the typewriter keys, but I'm learning to use only two fingers on that hand; and work is pretty well under control. By tomorrow night I should be caught up, thanks to Adeline's pitching in. So things are turning out all right.
