21 Annapolis, Md., Thursday, April 7th 1864 Quite a number of new Recruits were received today. Tuesday, April 12 Our Quarter-master, John S. Eckel, received a four day leave of absence (based on his application) to go home, to Minersville, Pa., to be initiated as a Free Mason. Wednesday, 13. Quartermaster Eckel started for home this morning. Owing to the inconvanience of the officers getting fresh meat I have arranged to purchase some for them daily. Satuday 16th More recruits have been received hence additional rations were issued.
