Saving...
59 Near Cold Harbor, Va. Saturday, June 11th 1864 Quartermaster Eckel came up to the regiment, with clothing, filling the order of the 6th. I drew two pairs socks (stockings) and give one pair to Sergeant Jas. Levan to replace pair loaned from him. We began erecting another large Fort, this time near General Burnsides Head Quarters. Sunday June 12th Eckel remained with me last night, this morning he went with his teams to the White House landing. At 8 o'clock this evening we left the front and march on the White house road.
