126 Near Peeble's House, Thursday Oct. 13th 1864. Orders were received to be ready to move at a moments notice: the line was formed arms stacked and everybody ready to fall in at the command, until after dark when the order was countermanded. Helped the Sutler, sell goods. My valisce was brought up, from the wagon train, with the 24th New York Cavalry baggage. Friday 14th Two Lieutenants, of the 17th Michigan Regiment were, by Order of General Wilcox, assigned to our regiment to assist in drilling the new men. This made Lieut. Gechter, of Co. H., angry and he has refused to do duty.
