149 able cannonading, principally from rebel mortor guns, which make our position in the fort anything but desirable. Quarter Master Eckel brought me an "A" tent, which I had put up with Company A back of the fort. Saturday 3d Patrick Sullivan, of Company H., returned to the regiment last night. The rebels opened fire today on our fort from three directions, the fire was kept up for quite a time and was heavy, however no one was hurt Sunday 4th Chas. Faunce returned to the regiment. Issued salt Fish, one days ration - Bot some corn meal and had corncakes for supper.
