150 Fort McGilvery, Va. Monday, Dec. 5th 1864 Received a Commision as First Lieutenant of Company F. 50th Regiment Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteers. Was mustered out as Commissary Sergeant and then mustered as an Officer of the Volunteer forces of the United States. Sent home the photographs of Capt. H. E. Cleveland and Col. Thos. S. Brenholtz, also a card for brother David. Tuesday 6th Dined with Quarter-Master Eckel. Jonas Faust was promoted as Commissary Sergeant. Wrote out an application for Lieutenant Alspach, of Company "A," for Muster out - his term of service having expired. One of Co. "C"'s men was caught stealing from the Sutler of the 20th Michigan
