202 Brigade Head Quarters I waited for the regiment to come up. An order was then received for us to move to the front take position directly to the left of Battery Nine and at a given signal charge. We now left our horses and proceeded to the front on foot, however, just before reaching the breast works something struck me and cut my sword belt in two at my hip. It was very dark and I did not know for nearly a minute what was the matter. I gathered myself up and found the regiment on the front line.
