220 State Capital Hotel Harrisburg, Pa. August 1, 1865 In order to expedite the closing up of my reports &c have employed an attorney. Sold my horse to John S. Eckel Brother David has just arived intending to take my horse home. sent him back home without the horse. August 2 The men were paid and most of them left for home this evening. Thursday 3 Finished making out my reports of Camp and Garrison Equipage after which I received my pay from Major F. D. Herbert, Paymaster U.S.A.
