September, THURSDAY, 15, 1864. wrote 1 letter to John 1 to Albert &. 1 to Lydia Johnson had Co. drill 2 hours Am &. battl, drill &, dress parade Pm. I was excused from drill and for the reason of being Color guard FRIDAY, 16. rebbed up my gun in the morning for inspection which came off @ 9 Am recd, a barrel of sourkrout for the Regt from the Sanitary Commission got a canteen of whisky &. got comfortably tight SATURDAY, 17. was reviewed by Gen Geary did nothing else of any consequence
