to do. In this matter however I may be disappointed. The great battles that will surely be fought in the east within the next month will surely cast the die of this war! The half million men now in camp eating uncle Sams bread & drawing upon his gold cannot lay still much longer. Onward must soon become the watch word, and victory the camp cry from Washington to New Orleans and from Mason & Dixons line to the gulfs of the south. We have not yet drawn our money, But I think we will get it in a few days now as I learn that the Paymaster is at Rolla paying off the first Reg & will be here as soon as possible.
