them adieu as they plunge into the river of death. But I believe that Baker had been preparing for death. He had been a changed man for several months before his fall, I trust & believe that he is in heaven. Poor Mrs Baker. How my heart bleeds for her. May God in His infinite mercy shield her, & save her by His grace. O bind up her heart all you can, and point her to God. Clara dear, we will meet with severe chastisement at Gods righteous hands if we do not worship Him with our whole hearts. Think of the signal manner in which he has ever blessed us, O are we worthy of such blessings. Will you earnestly and continually, join me in worshipping the good & great Lord. How thankful our sinful hearts should be for such mercy. God guided me through the most terrific storm of death.
