H&'d Q&'rs Post at Pulaski April 3rd 1864. My dear darling wife Your dear letter of last Sabbath came to hand to day - just one week on the road. Now is not that pleasant? Bless your dear dear heart I would give almost anything for one sweet kiss from them warm hot lips. Never mind very soon dear love I know just how you felt last Sabbath when writing that letter, but then you could not expect to get over your sickness without any sadness or trouble, but I can judge how natural for you to feel so under the circumstances. But had I been with you when you were sighing so for me, I could have petted you up so nicely that you would never felt so many minutes, no indeed my own dear loved Clara, my own dear wife. O Clara if you only knew how very dearly I do love you you would be the happiest mortal living. But you do know, dont you pet? And you love me passionately?
