a short time I shall be under the necesity of giving him a- "martial"- (I think he is now having the "court") I do not wonder that you think this is great place for parties, although I do not tell you of one half of the "sprees"- as they call them, generally they are not the best society in the world, but such as we have in this community. Hope you had a nice time during your Holidays. I did want to spend mine with you so bad; I almost wished that there would come a big snow about that time so that I might have a good excuse for leaving home. But being pretty weather I put in every day- from day light until dark in the corn field- and have a crib full of corn, and a contented mind as a result for my labor. -good-
