for breakfast+ When we got about 8 miles from here coming up yesterday a man came out across the field and motioned for the train to stop - he said there was forty guerillas at St Marys - the train moved very slow till we got there they had left and gone out towards New Market - So we came on through without seeing any of them + Found all quiet here - the cavalry had all left here the evening before + About 12" oclock a report came in that the guerillas had killed some teamsters who had started from here in the morning to go down the other side of New Market some where after forage - the guerillas came on them in New Market and captured four of them killed one in the street - three mounted their horses and started for Lebanon one was killed when he got about a mile from New Market - on got about two miles when they overtook him and killd him - the other one got through
