have no local tattle that would interest you we women folks don't gad much therefore have less news. The Oil mania is still raging among the "lords" Solomon Wise & Joe made a pilgrimage to Dunkard a short time ago came home a little down in the mouth I believe finding all was not oil that looks greasy have concluded their fortunes will have to be scraped of the surface instead of away down toward the infernal regions. They have not found Pete yet over at Ulery's but think they have a smell that will surely bring it before long, dont care have no stock in the company. Cousin Becky Lombaugh is flitted to Pigeon Creek she & her man were down the evening before they moved, he is severely quiet but I suppose keeps up a profound thinking Mary Has come out to be House Keeper for Uncle Joseph brought [Upside down at bottom:] in my next I will expect Mr Clarks photograph you remember the promise
