expected, or than I expected I mean, as I know how many you have to write. I was meaning the folks at home, I have only had three letters from Mag since coming here, and not that many from Emma. So you see as mother is not much of a writer, I don't get more than a few. The last letter I had from Mag, she said she thought I had been taking lessons in scolding, but as there is no one here of whom I could learn I have come to the conclusion I must have heard from her be that as it may though she said I knew how, pretty well. She said too that Proffessor [Garrison was] coming out to our house with Kate and John some Sabbath afternoon, and as, of course the baby will be along, I rather think the Proffessor will feel it his "bounden" (what does that word mean) duty to help cary it.
