"Tip" Griffin is pretty down in the mouth because his wife don't write to him very often and he misses the letter so much. It is nice of Griesels to be so good to you. Hope they don't put themselves out too much. We are having a nice warm day here today. Maj Woodhouse wants me to go to town with him this PM & drive his car back as he is taking his wife and baby back to Cedar Rapids to stay with her folks while the maneuvers are on. I will send the typewriter back home and some other stuff that I can't use much so you can bring back whatever I'll need when you come down in October, or I'll be able to use if I come home then. I suppose you would rather I came home, wouldn't you? Maybe you could come down and get me. Kilian is only a Second Lieutenant. I had a physical exam yesterday in connection with my application to attend Officer Candidate School and the examining doctor (Capt Carl A. Jacobs, Iowa University
