morning we had an orange, scrambled eggs, sweet bread & coffee. For dinner we had roast pork, gravy, creamed potatoes, lettuce salad, coffee, peaches. And for supper baked beans, potatos, chocolate pudding, vegetable salad & coffee. We traveled through snow all day until late this afternoon. The houses are one or 2 room shacks -- unpainted -- and in very poor condition and strung out about every 1/4 mile. Lots of negroes down here and every nigger has a dog and every dog has three or four pups. -- so you see there are lots of dogs. We stopped at Little Rock, Ark (81,000) for an hour and detrained and marched the men for about 12 - 15 blocks before supper. All enjoyed it. - Were down in the yards & marched in the negro-poor white district. Everybody came out on the porches & stared at us. We let the men fall out at some
