Camp Forrest, Tennessee Wednesdsay, Jan 13, 1943 Dearest Dorothea: No word you today as yet- and in view of your domestic help situations I'm quite worried to know what you are doing or going to do. Everything is going along OK. Not so much to do and still seems to take all the time one has. I took Winnie to the Veterinarian today. She has been limping around with a lame left leg and as the Vet told me she had sprained it. Also had her wormed and hope it helps her some. Everyone seems to be as glad that I got my transfer and can't understand how it ever happened. As a matter of fact neither can I. Haven't heard anything about my request for a new tire and the jallopy still stands out in the park lot with two flat tires. I surely wish I were rid of it, but I'm stuck with it now and will have to get out of it the best I can. Did you hear about the girl who said being in love is like playing poker? He leads with a diamond and she comes back with a flush and they end up with a full house. We had shool last night on the care and use of the carbine. It lasted for two hours.
